Everyone always assumes that I know the best of everything when it comes to food because I'm fat. And I do. So here goes.
Best Burger - Brooklyn Warehouse on Windsor St. has the best burger. It is thick and juicy, is made with local products and will make you die. Served with Potato Wedge type thingies, it's fantastic. In general, they have a lot of local stuff, including on tap. LITTLE bit steep price for a burger, but once you eat it you will realize, worth it.
Best Wings - Well, Bubba Ray's has the MOST, but far from the best. The actual best wings are in a DIVE. The Oasis on Spring Garden has the best actual wings, with the only problem being that you have to be in The Oasis to get them. I would PROB go to Bubba Ray's if it was a bunch of people because of the retarded variety, but if you really want the best wings, go to the Oasis.
Best Chinese Food - I'm gonna have to go Look HoHo. You get an AMAZING amount of food, and MOST of it is really good. Good Egg Rolls (for the best egg rolls go to Cheelin in the Brewery Market) and GREAT SS Chicken Balls. They have a good Chop Suey and a really solid Almond Chicken Soo Gai. If you want to pay more for the same basic food, see The Great Wall in downtown Halifax. Honorable mention, if you're in Clayton Park and need some Chinese, Fong Sing, located in the Applebee's Strip Mall is pretty good.
Best Clubhouse - NO QUESTION, it's Your Father's Moustache, unless you are really particular about your clubhouse. I say that because the Pub Club at YFM is a little different than most. It has a slightly different layout and different sauce but if you eat it and don't like it, you're an idiot and an asshole and I don't care WHERE you get a clubhouse from.
Best Donair - If Bash Toulaney's weren't located in the armpit of Halifax, it would CLEARLY win this. Many people don't know about it, but it is the best. Get cheese on it, cause it's way better. As an EXPERIENCE, you need to check out Robert's Pizza and Donair on Windmill Road in Dartmouth. Order a medium donair, no veggies, sauce on the side and just die.
Best Fish and Chips - Wharf Wraps, Fisherman's Cove Darmouth is THE BEST fish and chips. They literally give you a fish, wrapped in awesome. If you can't make it all the way out there, here are your runner's up. Salty's has a really nice fish and chips which is made better by two details; an amazing view from the restaurant looking out onto the harbour (although you are usually just looking at the ferry) and a FULL SQUEEZE BOTTLE OF TARTAR SAUCE at no extra charge. If you are in Halifax and are in a rush, try Fries and Co on Chebucto, good fish, great fries, WAY overpriced, but kind of tasty.
Best Fries - This is iffy. I mean, Bud The Spud is good, but personally I'm gonna go with Fries and Co. They are way delicious, and they're close to my house so suck it, bud.
Best Greek - OPA! Kidding. Personally I am a big fan of It's All Greek To Me, but when it comes right down to it, I'm going to change this category entirely to include middle eastern cuisine. And the winner is Mezza on Quinpool Road. DELICIOUS. Might be my favourite restaurant in Halifax EVER.
Best Ice Cream - Cold Stone Creamery, Quinpool Road Tim Horton's. Large, Cake Batter Ice Cream. Do it. Your life will never be the same. If you DON"T want to be awesome, or want ice cream on the waterfront, you are looking for a place called sugar.
Best Pizza Slice - Take your pick. Pizza corner, either KOD or Sicilian is your best choice. But pizza is a great deal about preference, unlike of this, which is true.
Best Poutine - Burger King.... Kidding, it's Alexandra's. There are 40 different types and they're all a whole lot of awesome. The Highfield location is great, just don't get shot.
Best Ribs and Pulled Pork Sandwich - Boneheads. Good god, if you haven't had this yet, do it. For BBQ there is no competition. Literally. I don't know of another BBQ joint and even if I did, it would still not compare.
Best Thai - Cha Baa, queen street. OMG. SS Squid is 50/50 between terrible and best ever, everything else is magnificent.
Best Veggie/Organic - Wooden Monkey. Grab a mug of Propellar Cream Soda and try ANYTHING on the menu. Good veggie meals, but a GREAT burger.
Best Brew - Rockbottom makes a great brew. Most micro-brews make a really terrible after taste. These go down smooth. Maybe too smooth.
There you go Terry. A website just for you
